DDX-1

The X-1 active crossover is your 1 piece solution to a myriad of multiple amplifier applications. The X-1 combines a 7 Volt line drive output, complex crossover design capability with absolute high fidelity in the most compact use of space possible. The front and rear panels are so jam packed with stuff that we couldn't fit any more stuff, but we did get the whole 4-way stereo crossover which includes 7 individual 24dB/oct filters into a 1/2 DIN package.

The preamp sections of the X-1 are really sweet using the best of the best Burr-Brown op-amps to ensure high slew rates and high signal-to-noise ratios. The PCB is filled with 1% tolerance parts, low noise coils and fast capacitors, plus a bunch of really tiny, cool looking parts.

The housing is the 2010 winner of the Hugo Prosciutto Excellence in Design Award for Monolithic Shaped Electronic Boxes using Prime Number Geometric Derivative Dimensions( otherwise known as the HGPEDAMSEBPNGDD Award ). The ultra rigid CnC milled aluminum front panel holds up the silkscreen identifying labeling without unwanted flexing or vibration. The extruded aluminum housing allows us to use our really cool brushed aluminum finish with engraved DD logo while also doing an outstanding job of holding the insides in and the outsides out. There are 3 tapped holes on each side of the case for secure mounting using cylindrical bolts (not supplied) to various places in and around your car (also not supplied).

The 2010 HGPEDAMSEBPNGDD Award winning housing also features through bolted, solid RCA connectors. These connectors are actually GOLD plated with a unique plating process that micro-deposits molecular gold so thin that a single gold nugget the size of the Empire State Building could gold plate the planet Mercury, except that the gold would burn off instantaneously. This gold layer fights wanted or unwanted corrosion on the RCA connectors.

The X-1 allows you to set up many different systems as effortless as a butterfly landing on a rose petal. There are two inputs, left and right, feeding sub out, low, mid and hi outs. The Sub, Low and Mid Bands use variable bandpass filters while the Hi Band is hi-pass only. Each filter set has overlapping frequency ranges so it can be used as 2 way, 3 way, 4 way or 1/2 way. Each band section has its own gain control. The Sub Band out section ranges from 12Hz to 160Hz, the Low Band from 32Hz to 7kHz, the Mid Band from 32Hz to 35kHz and the Hi Band hi-pass from 490Hz to 14kHz.

Each crossover range control has fixed detents and when used with the frequency chart (supplied), allows exact frequency control. The X-1 makes setting up 4 amplifiers as easy as pie with full frequency control and gain control at your fingertips, with the aid of a Flathead screwdriver or filed-flat pinky finger nail (not supplied).

The X-1 has a great name, things with X are always good and number 1 is number 1. The X-1 combines the work of a line driver and 4 way electronic crossover with the sound quality of the finest processors available. The X-1 allows you to set up multi-amp SQ setups, street beat setups and high output PA style setups with one position, finger tip tuning of the entire system. Tweaking and tuning can be done on the fly, right from the dash.
