The DD-PM151 are amplified
audio monitors designed for the digital media generation.
DIGITAL DESIGNS started
building studio monitors over 20 years ago that are still in use around
the world. Studio monitors are designed to provide a neutral sound field
to the engineer so they can go about mixing multiple channels of
recorded tracks down to the final version we hear or consume in some
fashion. We took design elements from our studio monitors and combined
them with the playback needs for today's "music on the go" lifestyle. We
incorporated high quality amplifiers, 3 channels of input selection,
optional powered subwoofer and professional quality speakers into
beautiful furniture grade cabinets - small enough to place anywhere and
big enough to deliver real, studio quality sound.
PROFESSIONAL QUALITY BUILD
The DD-PM151 monitors have the highest quality
drivers and discrete amplifiers. The 5.25" midwoofer uses high
temperature voice coil wire, precision injection molded cone, rubber
surround, magnetic shielding and fatigue resistant suspensions. The
tweeter is a 25mm silk dome with a neodymium magnet structure. The
tweeter's motor structure is cooled via a extruded aluminum heatsink and
magnetic fluid in the voice coil gap. The two channel amplifier uses
discrete transistors and mosfets; both are oversized for long term
stability. The cabinets are made from high density fiberboard with
internal bracing utilizing rounded corners to minimize edge diffraction.
The finish is high gloss black or white lacquer.
The DD-PM151s can function as your main stereo
playback system. There are 3 separate inputs selectable from the
supplied remote control or back panel switch. There is an MP3/iPOD type
docking port located on the top, RCA and 3.5mm DIN connector on the
back. These allow your music sources to be connected and switched on
demand. Your computer, CD player and MP3/iPOD can all be ready to play
with a push of a button. EXPANDABLE SUBWOOFER The DD-PM151 powered monitors bandwidth can be
expanded by adding the DD-PS1
powered subwoofer. This increases the volume and impact of the bass
output of the system and induces silly grins. The DD-PM151 features a subwoofer-out jack plus a
selectable 80Hz high-pass filter. This filter removes the low frequency
chores from DD-PM151, which
are being reproduced by the DD-PS1.
This allows more power and sound from the
DD-PM151 to be focused on the higher frequencies.
